Week of February 8th

February 8th, 2009

Oh Baby! This weekend was about maternity shoots. It’s very close to my heart because these sessions really reminded me of being pregnant with Oskar in the winter of 2005.

I love the excitement of new life and spring.

G. had come in for head shots this week.

There was a performance from JMKennedy Studios.

First week of 2009

January 6th, 2009

I just wanted to share Ella’s 1st birthday with everyone.   She loved her cake and  had a great time.

Last weekend KHP and Providencepinup.com was at The Southern New England Bridal Expo at the Rhode Island Convention Center. We met a lot of great vendors and saw some old friends.

Our next wedding show will be at:

WATERPLACE (The old Bella Vista)
One Finance Way
Providence, RI. 02903

January 23, 2009
6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

I went to this last year and had so much fun. This is very different from any other wedding event I have been to. The event will feature a cabaret performance from JM Kennedy Entertainment and magic by Chris Pratt.  Activities include Dave & Buster’s games; performers, demonstrations, food, and more. Doors & raffle registration open at 6:00pm. To learn more about the event visit: www.everythingeventsco.com or call (401)868-4498.

In the meantime, there have been some updates to Kharberphoto.com and a new launch to Providencepinup.com.

Christmas Week

December 21st, 2008

I have been very busy over the past two months and have not had a chance to write.  So during the snow this weekend I’ve been busy fixing up my site and finally have a few minutes to write here.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all my clients for your support.  This year was hectic with my growing family.  2008 was a year of juggling – as some of you have probably heard the baby and the 3yr old in the background as I answered your questions on the phone.

So, I want to say Happy Holidays and Thank You for helping to make this a great year!

Here are some photos of what I have been working on lately.

“Santa in the Studio” was great.  He will definitely be back next year for a visit.

Providencepinup.com has been very successful so far. Here is a shot from our holiday session.

Of course, Family and Newborn sessions are also personal favorites.

I have been doing many headshots, lately as well. I now offer a full hair and makeup session in addition to the standard photo shoot.

There are many great things coming in 2009, so please keep chekcing out my site and keep in touch.

Happy New Year!

Weekend of October 25th

October 26th, 2008

What a crazy weekend for Providencepinup.com!  Our Stylist and Make-up artist did a great job at The Miss Tattoo USA/Rock the Ink festival this weekend. I’m so proud of LuLu organizing our team.

I did get a chance to wisk away Miss Tattoo 2008 into the studio for a quick session.  Within two hours I had this image edited and displayed in a 24×36 framed image in our booth.  Modern technology is pretty cool, sometimes.

Weekend of October 18th

October 17th, 2008

I’m so sorry I have not kept up with this blog for the past couple of weeks.  Life gets crazy sometimes!  I have had many shoots and weddings in the past three weeks.

This first image was actually taken a week before the wedding during our pre-bridal sitting.

I’ve been really encouraging my clients to take advantage of a pre or post bridal sitting.   With the extra time we can take away from the entire wedding party and the pressure involved on the actual day, there are many opportunities to catch that revealing image.

Many people think post-bridal means trashing your dress.  That is not always the case, however.  Many times post-bridal shoots are  to make up for omissions or outright mistakes.  Lately, I’ve heard several horror stories by couples who hired a family friend to photograph their special day.

My pre/post bridal session starts in the studio and can be traditional or contemporary depending on your style.  Then we can walk around the studio’s historic neighborhood for some great outside shots.  This sitting is typically two hours.

At your 50th would anyone really know that these images were taken a few weeks later?

Providencepinup.com has been very busy promoting.  This is from our last shoot.  We have a workshop this weekend.  I will have a lot more to say soon because so many wonderful things are in the works.  I do not want to jinx it.

Week of September 15th

September 15th, 2008

It was another busy wedding weekend here.  I was in Boston and KimC., one of my staff photographers, was out shooting a wedding as well.

I have not had a downtown Boston wedding in a  long time. I felt like a child in the candy store with so many interesting backdrops.

Week of September 7th

September 10th, 2008

I photographed a beautiful wedding at Linden Place in Bristol – one of my favorite venues.  There are so many interesting backdrops for great photos indoors and out.  Some guest thought it was weird how I brought them to these doors on the property, but it made for a really unique shot.   I wonder what she whispered.

I was also at Lovebugs this weekend for candid photo day.  I love their new location on Hope St.  We will be doing it again closer to the holidays.  They have a play area for kids!

Week of September 1st

September 4th, 2008

Last weekend was so busy.  We had an opening at the Holden Street Gallery on Friday night.  We had a great turn out. This a portrait of the featured artist  Gary Thomson.  The show will be up until Friday the 12th.

I had two weddings this weekend in Newport.  Since the Emmanuel Church is so dark, I knew it needed more  light so I brought my own studio strobes.  The following shot with all the background detail would not have been possible without them.

Mr and Mrs B. had such a great  sunset.  Mrs. B loved being photographed and didn’t mind the break from dancing to get this shot.
