Providence-based female photographer and entrepreneur, Kryzstyna Caldarone, is proud to announce an art exhibition of vintage-inspired photography entitled,

Vintage Girl Studios, The Creative Sessions at Plan Bean, located in the historic Wayland Building at 128 North Main St. Providence.

The Exhibition will run May 20th – June 17th.

Opening Reception is May 20th 6pm -9pm, and will include the music of jazz singer and composer, Denise Moffat.

Creative Sessions is portrait photography of vintage-inspired performers in historic locations. The work features local and regional artists, musicians and cabaret performers, including members of the New England Burlesque community. The Historic locations include: The Lippitt House Museum, Providence, RI; HearthSide House, Lincoln, RI; The Quonset Air Museum, Quonset, RI; and The Corinthian Hall, Boston, MA.

Vintage Girl Studios (VGS) offers professional photography studio sessions that transform women into classic visions of themselves from past eras. Professional hair and make-up stylists help perform this transformation and assist clients in choosing vintage-inspired clothing for a personal photo shoot. Krzystyna Caldarone, VGS’s owner and photographer, began her Creative Sessions series in May, 2010 as a way to expand her art to create new classic images in historic locations.

Krzystyna has also produced online short movies of all the Creative Sessions series in order to capture her process. They are all on the VGS website.

None of images from this exhibition are for sale. Like a true portrait artist Krzystyna works on a commission from her clients.

Week of March 23rd

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

It was so great to see the Smith Hill St. Patrick’s day Parade.  It is a true sign that spring is coming.

Last Sunday PPU photographed a Mother’s Day promotional image.  Can anyone guess who the models are?

Week of August 25th.

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

I know that over the past few weeks my site has been a little jumbled.  Twoplusone has been doing a great job to get my site where it needs to be. I will be adding photos weekly not only to the blog (News), but to the galleries as well.  Please keep checking back and bear with us during the construction.

August 23rd I photographed the M. Reception.  The M’s were so great with posing that it was almost like a romantic dance when we had our session.  I worked with Kim C.  who is my staff photographer.  We had such a great time throughout the evening.

Yesterday I did some photos of Ella. It had been a while and she has gotten very mobile. This is a hand-me-down silk dress that photographed great.

I will be sending out a formal News Letter in the next month or so.  Currently, there is a show of my work up at Three Sisters Cafe on Hope st. in Providence. It will be up until September 15th. If you cannot make it I have included some photos below.  The show consists of infants and adults.  I am donating the entire show to the new NICU at Women and Infant’s Hospital.

Studio Happenings

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

I’ve had such a busy week. I’ve been so involved with  portrait sessions lately, but wedding season is sneaking up fast. This week I had a shoot with C., who is expecting a little girl.  We had a lot to talk about since our children are close in age.   Later in the spring, we will doing another session at her home along with her 2yr old.  We decided the natural environment of her home is best for the next stage of her pregnancy portraits.  For situation like that I will usually charge a two for one sitting fee.

Well spring is in the air and we have some things going on at the studio.  As you may know we have art shows throughout the year. We had our first of the season last Thursday.

The show was the Providence installation of the series, titled: Objects of Dysconsumption: Candy Stripers – Edible Art by Eve and Bowie.

The teeth and blood viles were yummy, but left me with a stomache ache the next day.  I’m sure Eve and Bowie would be pleased to know this.
