We have been so busy in the studio this year with group sessions and bachelorette parties. These larger sessions is a great way really bond with your girl friends.

Vintage Girl Studios takes a real hand on approach to these sessions by open communication through consultations, email, and phone calls with each guest before the date of the session.  We understand that  some guest may have some anxiety of being photographed and we do take that into consideration. Most of our clients really have never had worked with a professional photographer since they were a high school Senior or their wedding. Some guest may not know other guest as well (For example: Sister of the groom may not know the Bride’s college or work friends). We take all these concerns when there is a party at our studio.

Our day starts with your party arriving at the studio located in the Sayles Mill Photo Collaborative in Lincoln, RI. We then come up with a game plan of wardrobe for each guest. Each guest will have their Vintage make over and then proceed to the photo room when they will be working one on one with our photographer. At the end our all the guest sessions we will be doing group photos.

We have been so busy in the studio we have realized that spring has sprung!

The collaboration between My Méz and Vintage Girl Studios will allow patrons the unique opportunity to own a custom-crafted Méz table topped with their original pin-up images taken by Vintage Girl Studios. Based in RI, My Méz is redefining the way we think of art and furniture; these locally-made tables combine style with functionality as they can also be hung as artwork. Patrons can select their photos, stain, and table size. Vintage Girl Studios has designed a special session which would include this truly special one of a kind work of art. Ol’ Skool Rodz Magazine, Bombshell Betties, and Vintage Girl Studios will be holding its third annual Pin-up Pageant on Saturday, March 23^rd.   The pageant is a featured event during this three-day Boston World of Wheels extravaganza.

The theme of the Pin-Up Pageant is 40’s, 50’s 60’s classic pin-up style.   Contestants will be judged based on their wardrobe, make-up, hair, Q&A , and audience interaction/appeal.   1^st prize is $300 and a Pin- up portrait session with Vintage Girl Studios. Cash prizes for 2^nd and 3^rd place. Contestants must be female and 18 + to enter.  No swimsuits or lingerie wardrobe is permitted in competition.  Admission to the pageant is free with admission to World of Wheels.  The Contest begins at 9:00 p.m. at the Seaport World Trade Center in downtown Boston, contestant check in at 8pm.
Contestant registration is closed. Due to the overwhelming response online.
During the preparation for this event VGS has had the pleasure of working closely with The Bombshell Betties. These women are truly amazing and look forward to seeing them more this year.

Bombshell Betties is a social network of lovely ladies who are enthusiasts for the nostalgia of the hotrod/car/pinup scene. They love everything from those good old days of our parents and grandparents era…. the cars, the clothes, the music even the furniture and of course most of all the Pin-Up models!
They understand that entering the hot rod or pin-up scene might be intimidating especially for a beginner, so the goal of the group is to extend a welcoming hand out to others who want to be a part. Their goal is to be supportive and encourage other women to discover their potential and inner beauty, no matter what their size, shape or color!

Bombshell Betties founder, Janice Allen, cut her teeth in the hot rod scene by way of her father’s flea market stall in Amherst N.H. helping her dad sell antique car parts to vintage car hobbyists. It was there she was bitten by the nostalgia bug and became interested in pin-up era style and dress, which eventually led to her becoming a budding photographer, doing photo shoots of hot rods and pin-up girls at local cruise nights. She was often asked by girls on the side lines watching “How could I be a pin-up?” Or “Where is a good place to buy vintage clothes?” Or ” Where can I learn how to do my hair and make-up in pin-up style? And that is how the idea of Bombshell Betties was born.

This year we had the pleasure of working with Pin- up model Dee Dee Desire for our 2013 website cover model.  She is our fourth model to be on our website cover page.  Our sessions with Dee Dee  was a few shoot because of on going ideas. She had the Pleasure of working with Simony Resende and Ashley Maclean.  Cant wait to have her in the studio again for holiday themes. Maybe we will bump into her at a few events this summer.Thank you Nickle Baby Studios for the great enhancement with our cover image.
