Video Session with Jolene DiVine @ Vintage Girl Studios

Tuesday, December 16th, 2014

This summer I started an part time Video/Animation Program at The Rhode Island School of Design. I’ve been playing with video for a while and decided to take the next step into film making. My final this semester was to create a three minute video. I found this to be a great opportunity to work with the beautifully talented Jolene DiVine.

2014 Roaring Twenties Lawn Party at Castle Hill on The Crane Estate

Wednesday, August 20th, 2014

Last month we had the pleasure of attending 2014  Roaring Twenties Lawn Party at Castle Hill on The Crane Estate.

The Roaring Twenties Lawn Party is an event presented by Boston Swing Central and The Greater Boston Vintage Society.

A festival, an experience and was the event of the Summer! The event had: Hot Jazz from Brooklyn’s own, Baby Soda Jazz Band, a vintage fair with clothing dealers and a very fine haberdasher, swing and charleston dance lessons and performances, lawn games (croquet & bocce ball), picnicking and antique cars. And general frolicking in the sun.

The Lawn Party harkens back to the Jazz Age, the era in which the Crane Estate mansion at Castle Hill was built. The event will took place on the beautiful Grand Allee, a half-mile long landscaped lawn lined with statuary and hedgerows. It was the perfect setting for an idyllic Sunday afternoon.

I was vending promoting the studios. I had lovely neighbors Gypsy Vintage and Tangerine Boutique.

Such and amazing event and met many new friends. To view more photos from this event check out our Facebook page.

Postmodern Jukebox

Thursday, July 10th, 2014

Last year I was hearing all this crazy talk about Miley Cyrus at the VMAs. I looked for the clip and discovered Postmodern Jukebox.
Postmodern Jukebox takes popular top-forty songs and reinvents them into jazz standards. New video are release almost every week on Youtube. Sometimes children cartoon songs are released on Saturday mornings Called “Saturday Morning Slow Jams”.
I heard that they were touring for the first time  and heading to Providence and I knew I had to work with them. For more images from their session and show check out our Facebook Page.Postmodern Jukebox by Vintage Girl Studios

I want all my clients to know that I have recently left Providence Pin- Up and will be opening, Vintage Girl Studios, a service of Krzystyna Harber Photography.

As PPU’s co-founder, I spent countless hours developing the business and exploring concept-based, pin-up photography.   My time there was well spent!  We did some wonderful things.

Now, however, I’m so excited about moving to a new studio to start this project.  I plan to take the photography in a different direction and to offer more personal and attentive service.

UPDATE 2021:
I cannot believe that 11 years have gone by since this blog was posted.  I remembered writing it I was very nervous, scared, and had a lot of feelings. My children were so young and I had found my purpose in my art. Could this be an actual business? Will this work? I was also feeling a bit lonely in my vision with past partners. I was lucky to have the support of my husband and family through this journey. I made it a mission to have a unique studio that would empower all people through vintage glamour photography.
Over the past eleven years, we have had the pleasure of photographing hundreds of people in the studio, been to countless events, made dreams come true, created so much art, partnered with small businesses, donated our services, and made so many friends.
I truly love what I do and will not be stopping.
If you would like more information regarding our studio please view our studio guide.

Last week during my move I received a phone call for a maternity session.   I was not taking appointments until the 12th, but I realized she was in her 38th week – so we made it work!

To accommodate, we did a home session where I set up the studio in her living room and outside her home.  I’m so excited to work with them again and to soon meet Baby.
