This Saturday I worked with Richard Kizarian http://www.kizirianphotography.com/in Newport. It has been a while since I had second shot. It was real cool to get shots that are not mandatory as a lead photographer. I did realize that I need to start taking yoga again since it was my first wedding after having Ella. My legs were a bit sore from bending and running around. It felt real great to be able to move again. 

On Sunday I was on location for family portraits. It was great I went to their homes with a portable studio.  We had done some studio shots and then their front steps and backyard.   Mom had the idea of feet with jeans and I had the idea of posing little L. feet in the middle. I love these types of  portraits lately. I think they are so fun and different.  

This week I photographed J & J’s engagement session with Kim, my staff photographer. She’s shooting their wedding in October.  It was very cool to work with another photographer and see a different perpective of the same couple.  I’m really excited about the 5×5 booklet I made them.

I have a lot of interesting things coming up so stay tuned.

I have not had a busy weekend like this in a long time. 

This Friday and Saturday afternoon I exhibited my work at the children’s store, Bambini, spring event. I really enjoyed talking baby with everyone who attended. Congratulations to the winners in the photo drawing. I’m looking forward to working with you.  www.bambini-online.com
  

This was a graduation weekend here in Providence. I photographed Providence College at the Dunk on Sunday. This is the president of the senior class, Ryan Donnelly, giving his speech to his class. 

I photographed Ella this week. She is such a great model. I think she looks like a movie star from the forties.

 I photographed  a family cookout this weekend. This is a great way to capture a family at its best. I love candid moments like this little girl enjoying her corn and kids playing. We had done every combination of family portrait we could think of.  What a nice gift it was for Mom.

I love this time of year.  In my opinion, it is the official start of summer.  I especially love the 5th of May because Chris and I started to date that day in 2002.

I had a First Communion shoot with D. this week.  We had done a lot of traditional studio shots and then went for a walk.  One of the things about my studio that I really love is the surrounding neighborhood.  There are so many great outdoor spots within walking distance.  Many people think that studio shoots only take place inside in front of the backdrops.  But my studio shoots usually include a walk around the block and many good outside photo-ops.

Saturday the 3rd was a very busy day. I photographed children and their families at Lovebugs, a new children’s clothing and toy store located at the Hope Artiste Village .  http://www.lovebugsri.net/

I will be doing another photo event with them in the fall.

That evening Brian Alves had an opening at our studio. It was a great turnout. I took this portrait of him relaxing before the croud arrived. Check out www.holdenstreetgallery.com for more info about his show.

This week I spent with my family. I guess it is the quiet before the storm of going back to work.  I photographed Ella in her grandmother’s Christening gown. She looks like a perfect doll. Her Christening is still not for a few months but, I was not sure if she would still fit in the dress.

  Oskar and Ella’s cousin came by on Friday. He is so handsome that I think he should be a model.

 This weekend Chris and I had our first night away from the kids.  We stayed in a nice Bed and Breakfast and ate at our favorite resturant.  I had Sushi for the first time in a long time.

We took a nice walk on the rocks at Brenton point.  I love the smell of the ocean.  Who knows who that other guy is.

 The week of June 29th I will be spending a week photographing beach sessions in Narragansett, with reduced sitting fees.  I have openings if any one is interested.  

I worked with the V family yesterday.  I’ve been working with them since their engagement photos.  One of the most rewarding parts of my job is to watch families form and grow.

I have decided that infant photos like these need to be done in the home.  I can travel with a small studio and set up on a bed.  This way, I feel, we can get the most natural portraits.  Besides, being a new mother again, I know how much of an all-day project to get everybody ready to go somewhere.

Friday night at the Studio we had Providence Preservation Society’s Most Endangered Properties Traveling Photography exhibit.

I have no photographs in the show this year but, I hope to be in next year’s.  I really want to photograph the old DOT building on Arlene St. if it makes the list. We had a great turnout for the show.  Our next opening is 5/3 with Brian Alves.

This weekend was very  busy. My promo video was filmed thanks to Fresh Focus productions.  Their link is on the right.   It will be on my “About Me” page in the next few months.

M was filmed too. I’ve been working with his family now for a few years. He’s getting some teeth.

   Saturday was the rain date for the St. Patrick’s Day parade in our neighborhood.   I forgot my camera, so my husband handed me a digital point and shoot. I was pretty confused at first, but this is what I got.

I was photographing a Children’s party today. This little boy had the biggest eyes.

 I’m still getting ready for my wedding season.  I’ve done some updates to my computer programs in order to offer new  effects to my images. This one is going up in the studio window. 

I’m getting ready for the 2008 season. Started to go back to the gym in Febuary to get fit to chase the ladies in white and lose my baby weight. These are a few of images from 2007.
